Payment Methods

Before you can start adding your products to sell on Rocketr, you’ll need to tell us where to forward your payments for each of the payment methods you’d like to accept.

To get started, log into your Rocketr account and navigate to Settings > Payment Settings

On the Payment Settings page, you’ll see a wide variety of payment methods that you can accept with Rocketr.

PayPal

PayPal is one of several payment methods you can accept using our service. We do not currently charge any additional fees for accepting PayPal, so the only fee for PayPal payments is the fee that PayPal themselves charge. You only need to enter your PayPal account’s email address here and click “Save Changes” to begin accepting PayPal.

Bitcoin

Bitcoin is another payment method that you’ll be able to accept using Rocketr. For Bitcoin, we charge 5% of the sales price for free users or 2% for premium users. If you need a Bitcoin wallet, we recommend blockchain.info because of their ease-of-use and also because of their security. After you add a Bitcoin address to your payment settings, you’ll also need to specify how many confirmations you’d like to wait for before we forward the bitcoin to you and release your product to your customer.

The more confirmations we wait for, the longer it will take for you to receive the payment and for the buyer to receive the product, but the safer the transaction is. You can read more about Bitcoin confirmations here. We currently require a minimum of one confirmation (generally safe) and a maximum of six confirmations (always safe).

Ethereum

Ethereum is a decentralized platform that runs smart contracts: applications that run exactly as programmed without any possibility of downtime, censorship, fraud or third party interference. Through Rocketr, you’ll be able to accept ethers, Ethereum’s “crypto-coin”. Currently we do not allow customization of required confirmations for ether, and instead we simply require five confirmations before forwarding the payment to the seller and the product to the buyer.

Perfect Money

Perfect Money is another payment service that Rocketr sellers are able to accept payments for. They, like Bitcoin, don’t provide a way to reverse transactions. It is however closed to U.S. residents. In order to begin accepting payments with Perfect Money, you’ll need to enter your account number and alternative passphrase on the payment settings page. You can generate your alternative passphrase in your Perfect Money account in your settings.
